Life & Times of Lawrence Anthony, Elephant Whisperer and Conservationist
A legend in South Africa, author of 3
books including the bestseller The Elephant Whisperer, a brave soul…
Lawrence Anthony rescued wildlife & rehabilitated
elephants all over the globe from human atrocities, including the
courageous rescue of Baghdad Zoo during US invasion in 2003.
months ago on March 7, his heart just gave away. Passed on to the
light…he's remembered & missed by his wife, 2 sons, 2 grandsons
& numerous elephants.
days after his passing, the elephants showed up: led by 2 matriarchs,
separate wild herds arrived in droves to say good bye to their beloved
man-friend. A total of 20 elephants, they had patiently walked over 12
miles to get to his house.

Witnessing this spectacular event, humans were obviously in awe, not only because of the
supreme intelligence & precise timing these elephants sensed about
Lawrence, but also because of the profound memory & emotion the
beloved animals evoked in such an organized way:walking slowly for days,
making their way in a solemn one-by-one queue from their Thula Thula
habitat to his house.
Lawrence's wife, Francoise, was especially touched,
knowing that the elephants had not been to the house for 15 months prior
to that day!The elephants obviously wanted to pay their last respects,
honoring their man-friend who'd saved their lives, so much respect that
they stayed for 2 days and 2 nights, hung around for one last tribute in
the final morning, then left, making their long journey back to
their land

What a beautiful affirmation, here's to the interconnectedness of all
